Greg Hartman is partner and regional manager of MGT of America, Inc., a national management research and consulting firm. Hatrmann has over 15 years of direct experience in public policy and business development at the local, state and federal level, as well as a broad range of management experience throughout Texas government. He has worked and consulted on project managment, legislative strategy,media, communications and marketing from both public and private perspectives.
For almost five years, Hartman was Director of Communications and Executive Assistant to Texas State Comptroller John Sharp. As such, he helped create and direct the Texas Performance Review, as well as other public policy and management initiatives.
From 1988-1990, Hartman was director of special programs for the Texas Railroad Commission. Prior to that, he served as office chief of staff in the Texas Senate, and he was a senior associate with Emory, Young and Associates from 1980-1986.
His professional experience includes acting as project director for a comprehensive audit of the San Diego Unified School District, the eighth-largest district in the nation. He served as executive manager for production of "Forces of Change," an economic analysis and strategic planning for the State of Texas, and as executive manager for performance review of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Hartman received a bachelor's degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984.
